Copenhagen Fashion Week

Marmalade Savannah: What was your favorite collection from Copenhagen Fashion Week and why?

OliviaMy favorite collection from CPHFW was Ganni because I loved the playful layering, the maximal usage of leather, and the stunning accessory design. This collection is titled “Copenhagen Nostalgia” and the editorial was shot in front of a red and white backdrop to symbolize the Danish flag. The Ganni girl is maturing and so is the attention to tailoring and outerwear. I also found it interesting that the fur coat (as seen below) is made from BioFluff, a sustainable material created by Ganni.

Marmalade Savannah: What was your favorite look from this collection and why?

Olivia: My favorite look from this collection was Look 1 because of the opulent sheer fringe skirt with the beaded butterfly Ganni logo.… It's such a showstopper! After analyzing some of the other designers who showed at CPHFW I concluded that fringe is an upcoming trend for 2024. I also love the platform loafers which were repeated in many of the looks from this collection. It’s almost as if the loafer and the Danish clog had a baby.

Marmalade Savannah: What trends from CPHFW do you plan on implementing in your wardrobe?

Olivia: One of the trends I plan on implementing in my wardrobe is the skirt/pant combo! In elementary school I was doing that with my Justice clothes haha…...but I love the intentionality of pairing similar fabrics and creating an unexpected sculptural silhouette! Maybe I'll mix my light wash Ganni skirt (similar to the gray midi in the second photo) with a pair of light-wash bell bottoms. It could be a flop but I love trying new things!

Marmalade Savannah: What was your favorite collection from Copenhagen Fashion Week and why?

Beca: My favorite collection was Munthe. This collection screamed rodeo, fit with animal prints, fringe and wide brim hats-my inner horse girl is HERE for it! This season is all about the denim, and Munthe definitely came through. It is so fun to see how they’ve created denim pieces that are perfectly oversized but wearable for the modern Danish wardrobe.

Marmalade Savannah: What was your favorite look from this collection and why?

Beca: My favorite look from this collection is look 6. This is the ultimate cool girl outfit formula that never fails: A button up, baggy jeans and a trench. However adding daintier items like the skinny belt and the pointed flats makes it still look a bit feminine. It’s such a classic look that is so wearable and perfect for everyday, definitely something that would appeal to our clientele!

Marmalade Savannah: What trends from CPHFW do you plan on implementing in your wardrobe?

Beca: I definitely want to incorporate sheer pieces into my day to day outfits. What typically felt like only special occasion wear can actually be layered under tanks or over tees to make for a more textured look!

Marmalade Savannah: What was your favorite collection from Copenhagen Fashion Week and why?

Emily:  My Favorite collection from Copenhagen fashion week was Stine Goya. I have followed this brand for years and this season I felt a distinct shift from the bright and blousy silhouettes we typically see from them to a cool maturity. I felt that this collection stayed true to their identity with the use of painterly prints but introduced new elements with sculptural tailoring and unexpected use of metal hardware.

Marmalade Savannah: What was your favorite look from this collection and why?

Emily: I loved this tailored denim look from the Stine Goya show. I’ve been seeing alot of attempts at the Canadian Tuxedo, this is the best one yet. With the oversized proportion of the belt I think this jacket would work for any body type- not something that can typically be said for denim.

Marmalade Savannah: What trends from CPHFW do you plan on implementing in your wardrobe?

Emily: I’d like to experiment with creating more feminine feeling looks in fabrics and shapes that are typically associated with menswear. This Baum und Pferdgarten dress is a perfect example: I love the pinstriping and the boxy construction but it still feels feminine and effortless. My personal style leans heavily on menswear for inspiration but finding a balance between masculine and feminine can be a challenge. I also love this heel and sock combination, it feels nerdy but chic- a reference to Parker Posey’s character at the end of Party Girl when she becomes a librarian. An iconic look I’m excited to play with.

Marmalade Savannah: What was your favorite collection from Copenhagen Fashion Week and why?

Anna: My favorite collection from CPFW has to be Baum Und Pferdgarten. With the rise of business casual styles outside of business settings I think they've done an excellent job in combining street style with classic business silhouettes while maintaining their luxurious feminine look.

Marmalade Savannah: What was your favorite look from this collection and why?

Anna: My favorite look from Baum Und Pferdgarten is look 19. This look embodies the perfect amount of pattern mixing and layering with different textures. We see the blue denim pinstripe jeans with the pinstripe button up under the mesh long sleeve with an additional logo tank over top. It also showcases some funky, untraditional long necklaces.

Marmalade Savannah: What trends from CPHFW do you plan on implementing in your wardrobe?

Anna: I’ve already started taking inspiration from CPFW in a few ways. I've started to incorporate more of that business casual look into my personal wardrobe. As well as thinking about accessorizing in an out of the box way. Adding small purses wrapped around the hips or bracelets as a charm on necklaces.
