In anticipation of our upcoming event with Cinnamon Club, we caught up with founder and designer Anna Grace Smathers in Savannah. With an energy as fun and vivacious as her designs, Anna Grace has rapidly built a successful fashion line designed and produced in Atlanta, Georgia. Join us next week to shop Cinnamon Club in store at our Savannah location and sip cocktails with the designer herself!
Marmalade Savannah: How would you describe your personal style?
Anna Grace: I’d say my style is a playful fusion of retro glamor and modern chic. I love to mix high fashion with casual pieces. I like to mix in a little edginess to portray my confidence and sense of adventure.
Marmalade Savannah: Which designers stand out to you at Marmalade? Any pieces you're in love with?
Anna Grace: Rails and Staud are go-to brands for me. I love an investment piece that I can pull out throughout the seasons. I'm also a sucker for a Frankie’s bikinis, they make a girl look so good!
Marmalade Savannah: What inspired you to Start Cinnamon Club? How has your brand grown since its inception?
Anna Grace: My brand, Cinnamon Club, was born out of my passion for design which I honed during college. After encouragement from friends and family and a difficult experience at my first job, I decided to take the leap and create something that truly reflected my vision and values. It’s honestly grown more than I expected for being open for just about 7 months now. Cinnamon Club is currently in 6 or 7 states & we have customers all over the nation. That’s crazy to even say! One of my favorite things is to see where I’m shipping a package, I’m nosy hehe! I can’t wait to see where I am in a year from now & hopefully see more pieces in Marmalade!
Marmalade Savannah: What drives your creative process?
Anna Grace: My creative process is driven by the emotions and memories connected to the clothes I wear, each piece reflecting cherished moments. For example, think about your favorite tee you wore in college. How many experiences and good memories you have wearing that T-shirt! I aim to create designs that evoke that same sense of nostalgia and joy, allowing others to relive their own favorite memories through fashion.
Marmalade Savannah: Are there any pieces you're releasing this season that you're especially excited about?
Anna Grace: Yes, I have a new collection called “Pick Your Poison” inspired by the most beloved poison of them all, caffeine! I am so excited to release an upcoming espresso martini and coffee set!
Marmalade Savannah: As a cocktail connoisseur, where is your favorite place to get a cocktail in your Neighborhood? We may need a few recs for our next trip to Atlanta!
Anna Grace: My favorite place to get a cocktail in Buckhead would be the Garden Room, Yebo, and Himitsu. If I am in town you will probably run into me there!
